Unfortunately, this is quite often the case, and can become quite annoying. Chances are that you are using the same coordinate system most of the time, probably the projected system of the country you live in.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily tell QGIS to use this system as default coordinate system for new projects and for layers without assigned coordinate system. This is done via <em>Settings &#8211; Options<\/em>. Select <em>CRS<\/em> and then pick a default CRS for new projects, and set the default CRS for layers to the project CRS:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1943\" src=\"http:\/\/dreid.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/qgis_crs.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1020\" height=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dreid.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/qgis_crs.png 1020w, https:\/\/dreid.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/qgis_crs-300x132.png 300w, https:\/\/dreid.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/qgis_crs-768x338.png 768w, https:\/\/dreid.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/qgis_crs-600x264.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This rids you of many unnecessary prompts for unknown CRS.
